Posted: November 14, 2011, 3 a.m. EDT
Immediately following the “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” the 10th Annual “National Dog Show Presented by Purina” will be shown on NBC from noon to 2 p.m. in all time zones. Of the approximately 2,000 dogs expected to compete, the Kennel Club of Philadelphia event will also introduce six new American Kennel Club-sanctioned breeds: the Entlebucher Mountain Dog, Norwegian Lundehund, Xoloitzcuintli, American English Coonhound, Cesky Terrier and Finnish Lapphund.
Television personality Jon O’Hurley (“Seinfeld,” “Dancing with the Stars”) and voice of the Westminster Kennel Club show, David Frei will host the event. Last year’s Best in Show went to Irish Setter GCh. Windntide Mr. Sandman. As one of only five benched shows remaining, all of the 170 competing breeds will be on display for the visiting public. Stay tuned for show results.
