A woman walking her dog who broke her wrist after getting snarled in a dog leash has sued a fellow dog walker.
Alida Rubin, of Manhattan, N.Y., says Eva Karastathis, also of Manhattan, ignored her warnings and approached her and Punim, her Shih Tzu, causing the dog to tangle her in the leash and landing her on the sidewalk, breaking her wrist.
Rubin said she told Karastathis to keep her dog away from Punim, who is not dog-friendly. But Karastathis allegedly ignored the warnings and let her dog out to the end of her extendable leash.
Punim went into a fit and entangled Rubin’s legs in the leash, causing her to fall, according to a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court last week.
But Karastathis’ husband counters that claim. “There are documents and witnesses that will prove that she’s lying,” Khris Karastathis told the New York Observer. “The doormen saw that her dog wanted to play.”
