Britney Spears’s publicity woes continue to build since the singer was named the “Worst Celebrity Dog Owner” in an online poll of readers conducted by The New York Dog magazine.
First, Spears was booed at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game. Then celebrity gossip website TMZ.com reported that Paris Hilton gave her new friend and fellow “Worst Dog Owner” recipient (Hilton took the title in 2005) a Bali dog-carrying case. The bag, worth a reported $500, is made of Italian leather and comes with a detachable fur-lined pad.
News reports continue to speculate as to whether Spears still actually owns her one-time constant companions, Chihuahuas Lacy, Lucky, and Bit-Bit. Kevin Federline, her soon-to-be-ex-husband, told a reporter in September that they had given the dogs away to friends after the birth of their first son.
