Salma Hayek almost didn’t make it to the Golden Globe Awards last month. But the possible delay wasn’t due to notorious Los Angeles traffic or a narrowly averted wardrobe malfunction.
On the day of the awards show, Salma Hayek’s dog saved the actress’s life, reports “The Insider.”
The “Ugly Betty” creator explained to host Pat O’Brien that she “had a headache and went to lie down” and was awakened from her nap by her dog, Diva. Hayek says the dog was grabbing at her sleeve and trying to pull her out of the house when she realized that the gas was on in her home.
Hayek says Diva was the reason she was able to attend the awards show later that night.
“Ugly Betty” took home two Golden Globes, including Best Television Comedy and Best Actress in a TV Comedy for its star, America Ferrera.
