Is Paris Hilton trying to pass off another dog as Tinkerbell?

Us Weekly recently reported that Hilton introduced a Chihuahua as Tinkerbell – the socialite’s former constant companion – on the set of her forthcoming movie, “The Hottie and the Nottie.” But the magazine published photos of the current dog with older shots of Tinkerbell, noting differences in coat and nail color.

Hilton’s publicist denies there’s been a canine switcheroo. “There’s only one Tinkerbell,” her rep told the magazine. “The color of Chihuahuas changes as they grow older.”

The magazine sent the photos to pet expert Charlotte Reed for her take. Reed says that while the dog’s hair could indeed gray with age, the dog’s nail color stays the same. “In the older pic, Tinkerbell has a black nail, while in the new one the nail is white,” Reed said. “I don’t think it’s the same dog.”

Hilton was voted the World’s Worst Celebrity Dog Owner in 2005 by online readers of The New York Dog magazine. In a statement, the magazine said the heiress to the Hilton Hotels fortune won for “treating her dogs like accessories.”

Interesting, why does this matter it is how the dog is treated that matters.
