Josh Groban Hits the Road With His Dog

Sweeney Todd, a Wheaten Terrier, enjoys the “suite” life with Groban.

Posted: June 25, 2008, 5 a.m. EDT

Josh Groban’s dog, Sweeney Todd, has a pretty good life at the singer’s Malibu home. But the Wheaten Terrier, who regularly travels with Groban, also has a pretty good life on the road.

“The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco takes the cake,” Groban told InStyle. “They had two bowls of treats ready and a giant dog bed. Sweeney jumped on it and was like, ‘Mine!’ They had a gourmet dog menu with fresh chicken and rice dishes. I thought, ‘Am I really going to pay $30 for room service for my dog?’ Then I said, ‘You know what? It’s not like a cat with nine lives.’ So yes, he was spoiled.”

Groban, whose last album, “Noël,” was the bestselling album of 2007 and broke a 50-year-old sales record held by Elvis Presley, also likes to take quick road trips with the 2-year-old dog just for fun.

“We took a drive to Carmel (Calif.), and Sweeney loved the beaches and the water,” says Groban, whose latest album is “Awake Live.” “We found a bench and just sat and looked out at the Pacific Ocean. It’s the most beautiful place in the world.”

Yes, Josh the Pacific Ocean is the most beautiful place in the world and especially if you have your best friend beside you...my dog just loves fetching anything that can be retrieved.

This says a lot about Josh, doesn't it? He once referred to Sweeney as his best friend in the whole world! Is this man a love or what?! I have three "babies" and I love them the same way. Got to love a man who loves his dog!!
