Anne Hathaway Leaves Dog With Ex’s Mom

Reports say the woman cannot care for the dog while the actress promotes new movie.

Anne Hathaway has reportedly left her 2-year-old chocolate Labrador Retriever Esmeralda in the care of her jailed ex-boyfriend’s mother – who is undergoing cancer treatment in New York – while the actress travels the world to promote her new film “Get Smart.”

“Could Anne Hathaway please come get her dog?” asked one of Raffaello Follieri’s friends in the New York Post.

Follieri, who is in jail on fraud charges and can’t make the $21 million bail, can’t afford a dog walker, the Post reports, and his mom is not well enough to walk or care for the dog. Hathaway and Follieri ended their relationship in early June.

The source said, “I feel bad for the dog. She’s a beautiful, sweet dog who probably greeted the FBI agents with her tail wagging.”

Last year, Hathaway told People that Esmeralda helped her score a plum movie role. The night before her audition for “Becoming Jane,” “My dog decided to eat the hotel slipper, so she was up the whole night vomiting. I slept maybe an hour.” Hathaway was particularly distraught because she had to beg for the audition in the first place because of her squeaky-clean image.

“When I arrived at the interview, I was tired and wasn’t in a very good mood,” Hathaway said. “I guess Julian [director Julian Jarrold] realized that I wasn’t the bright, happy, smiley, untroubled girl from ‘The Princess Diaries.’ He offered me the role after that.”

I think it is absolutely horrible. The dog is not just her Ex-boyfriend's she is also anne's dog. Why don't people understand that having a dog is a commitment. When you bring a dog into your life you are responsible for him or her their whole life regardless of the work it takes to care for the dog. She has so much money that she could even hire someone to watch the dog while she is "too busy to take care of her". If that was anne's baby would she neglect it while on tour? probably not. What a pathetic excuse for a human being.

Well obviously she didn't care for the dog in the first place. She had no problems dumping the dog off on the first person that she could. SHE....HERSELF should be taking care of the animal. God knows she's got the money. She needs to worry about her poor animals needs first. God forbid if she couldn't travel the country promoting her movie. What a selfish woman. I look at her in a completely different manner now.

If you can not care for an animal, you should not have one.
