Two guests left behind a black Labrador Retriever and two cats when they checked out of a Hilton Head Island, S.C., hotel Sunday, according to a sheriff’s report, The Island Packet (South Carolina) reports.

Five Detroit men who officers say were ring leaders in a recent dogfight have been taken into custody and arraigned on felony charges, Wayne County Sheriff Warren Evans announced. More than 25 others have also been arraigned in connection with the July 14 dogfight, Detroit Free Press reports.

Pham said she tried to drive the bees away by spraying water, but she got stung and decided to call the fire department. Firefighters also used water hoses to chase away the bees. By then the dog had suffered more than 1,000 stings and died after being taken to a veterinary clinic, The Associated Press reports.

I feel so sorry for the dog that got stung by the bees, that is horrible. Just a shame.
