Dog lovers beware. A neighborhood in Peru’s capital, Lima, has passed a law prohibiting families living in apartments from having more than one dog. People living in houses are allowed two dogs, while those found with more will be subject to hefty fines, Reuters reports.

Officer Gets Probation in Death of Police Dog
A San Diego police officer charged in the death of his canine partner pleaded no contest Thursday to a misdemeanor charge of animal endangerment and was ordered to pay for the dog. Paul Hubka, who was not at the hearing, was placed on three years’ probation and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service at any nonprofit agency within six months, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
