Actress Kristin Davis and a toilet-flushing, skateboarding Bulldog named Gabe swept the top prizes at Sunday’s Worldwide Fido Awards on Nick at Night.
The Bellingham, Wash. dog beat out five other finalists for the title, bestowed by judges Kevin Nealon, Vivica Fox and dog trainer Tamar Gellar. Each canine finalist had received the most online votes in their category at Worldwidefido.com, where visitors chose their favorites from user-submitted videos.
The evening’s sole human award winner, “Sex and the City” actress Kristin Davis, garnered the Dog’s Best Friend Award for her commitment to fostering abandoned dogs.
Other awards included “Cutest” to a French Bulldog named Samson from San Francisco, Calif.; “Best Trick” to Gabe, the Worldwide Fido winner; “Best Dressed” to Phoebe Buffay, a bikini-clad Boxer from Texas; “Best Owner Lookalike” to German Shepherd Dog Kaine Vom Feuerspiel and owner Ashley Brook from Arizona; “Best Voice” to Sunny, a Schubert-humming Golden Retriever from California; and “Most Outrageous” to Tommy, a diving Labrador Retriever from New Jersey.
Buddy, a German Shepherd Dog from Arizona, was awarded the Hero Award for calling 911 when his owner suffered a seizure.
