Tori Spelling Creates Fund in Honor of Her Late Dog

The Mimi La Rue Fund for homeless animals honors Spelling’s Pug, who died in June.

Tori Spelling has established a fund to help sick and injured homeless animals at Much Love Animal Rescue in honor of her late Pug Mimi La Rue, who died in June at the age of 11.

Mimi La Rue “was truly one of the great loves of my life,” Spelling wrote on the Much Love Animal Rescue website. “She was an inspiration to all and touched everyone’s lives who came in contact with her. Mimi gave me unconditional love, and in return I never gave up on her.”

Spelling reveals that Mimi underwent acupuncture in her final months “even when people said I was so Hollywood. I’m blessed that I had the luxury of being able to afford Mimi’s medical bills.” Now, “because of Mimi and her zest for life, Much Love will have the funds to rescue animals from shelters that otherwise would not have the chance to find loving homes,” Spelling said.

Giving to other dogs, who need our help, is a small way of honoring what our dogs give to us. Tori is so wonderful and Mimi was special. thanks for not forgetting to pay forward some of the blessings Mimi gave to you.

I think it's a wonderful idea.
I lost my lovely dog in august this year and even now i can not watch when animals are dying on the roads. Best regards for everyone!

An amazing tribute to her dog and qualifies the kind of unconditional love us humans have with our animals.
It is a recent understanding of mine, having been given my first animal companion at age 51. My Bella is more dear to me than words can express and in turn I will support her always with health, happiness and love - what better way to pay back her innocense.

Our animals do steal our hearts, don't they? Thanks, Tori for using your influence and power to shed light on this important subject. RIP, Miss Mimi LaRue.
