Glenn Close, Rachael Ray Cook Up Dog Charity

The pair’s recently launched project raises money for veterinary care for needy dogs.

Glenn Close has joined forces with talk show host Rachael Ray to raise money for needy dogs.

The actress visited the “Rachael Ray Show” on Tuesday to talk about their shared passion for dog fostering and dog adoption, and to announce Ray’s recently launched charitable shop on Fetchdog.com, where Close has her own shop as well.

The Rachael Ray Charitable Shop on Fetchdog.com features eight dog products selected by Ray. The products include modern-style dog bowls, earth-friendly dog toys, and a treat ball. A percentage of everything a shopper purchases from Ray’s page will benefit the Picasso Veterinary Fund at the Mayor’s Alliance for New York City’s Animals. The fund provides medical care for homeless and other needy animals.

Several other celebrities, including Martha Stewart, Ted Danson, and Debra Messing, have established charitable shops on FetchDog.com.

“We are very excited about the potential for charitable shops to benefit animal charities,” said Gretchen Kruysman of FetchDog.com. “This is feel-good shopping at its best.”

I'm not sure I'd trust Glenn Close around dogs. She might make them into a fur coat.
