Two High-Priced Puppies Stolen From Reno Home; Mother Dog Killed
A Reno family who sells English Bulldog puppies was devastated Wednesday after two home invaders snatched two pups from their pen, and then ran over their family pet — killing her — during their escape. The couple had been advertising the sale of the puppies for $1,800 in the Reno (Nev.) Gazette-Journal the past three weeks, the newspaper reports.

Shaw Exercises Its Dog Park Rights
Dog owners in the Shaw neighborhood can drop their leashes and set their pets free in the District’s first legal dog park. The 15,000-square-foot enclosed area on 11th Street NW between Q and R streets opened this month and has separate enclosures for large and small dogs, the Washington Post reports.

Seventh-grade students at St. Raphael School raised funds for the care of Oliver, a Papillon-Sheltie mix puppy who they “saved” in partnership with the Shamrock Foundation.
