Rules Are Set for Coming Simi, Calif., Dog Park
Simi Valley’s first dog park is set to officially open in March, but before any dogs will be allowed, a few ground rules had to be established. On Thursday, the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District board set the rules for patrons and their pooches at the long-awaited park, the Ventura County (Calif.) Star reports.

Pup Gets Offer For New Home
Barney, the dog who was burned over 30 percent of his body and found wandering in Somerset County, Pa., should live happily ever after. Dozens of phone calls with offers to assist have poured in from as far away as Maryland. Based on wound patterns, it is believed Barney’s injuries were caused by scalding water or a chemical. Burglars Hit 2 North County Animal Shelters Twice
Burglars have hit two North County, Calif., animal shelters two different times. On Sunday night at the Escondido Humane Society, police say the burglars broke in through the roof. They entered the building and left with $1700. It happened again Tuesday night when the burglars tried to take money from a cash register. They banged it up but a burglar alarm sounded and they didn’t leave with anything, SanDiego6.com news reports.
