It takes a lot to move Anne Hathaway’s dog. The actress says her dog was nonplussed by her Oscar nomination for Best Actress in “Rachel Getting Married.”
“I was with my parents and my dog when I got the news and we were all overjoyed — although I’m not sure my dog knew what was going on,” the actress joked to The Press Association.
Hathaway’s fellow Best Actress nominees include Angelina Jolie, Melissa Leo, Meryl Streep, and Golden Globe winner Kate Winslet.
“It is such a thrill to be recognized in this category with these remarkably talented women,” she said. “This is a great day to be an actress.”
And what about the talk of Hathaway being the fashion world’s latest icon?
“Icon status is something you have to earn. I’m not an icon,” Hathaway said. “I just had a good year.”
The Academy Awards will be broadcast Feb. 22.
