A new film tells stories of animal lovers who streamed into New Orleans to rescue thousands of stranded pets after the hurricane. It also shows both sides of the ownership disputes that later cropped up between Gulf Coast residents and some of the hundreds of people who adopted pets, The Associated Press reports.

Airline Pet Policy Raises Allergy Concerns
Southwest Airlines' new policy of pets riding in the cabin has some passengers complaining about the possibility of allergies and in-flight noise. The economy airline's policy, which allows passengers to bring small cats and dogs on their flights for a $75 fee starting June 17, yielded complaints from travelers with allergies and those concerned about disruptive barking while flying, United Press International reports.

22 Dogs Seized in Alleged ‘Puppy Mill’ Up for Adoption
A shelter is the new temporary home for 22 of 240 dogs and puppies rescued from a “puppy mill” Monday in the downstate Corydon, Ind., area.
