Take Your Dog to Dinner

On June 26, restaurants across the country will welcome dogs and their owners.

Posted: June 24, 2009, 5 a.m. EDT

You can treat your dog to a unique dining experience on Friday, June 26, when restaurants nationwide will open their doors to canines during the “Esser Take Your Dog to Dinner Night.” Sponsored by Esser Vineyards, a family-run California winery, the event will be held in conjunction with Pet Sitters International’s Take Your Dog to Work Day, to celebrate dogs and their companionship.

Participating restaurants will host Esser Wine Dinners for patrons and their dogs, where humans and canines will both be treated to delicious meals, with a portion of the proceeds donated to local shelters or animal rescue organizations. From Max’s Grill in Boca Raton, Fla., to JJ Docks in Minneapolis, Minn., diners will enjoy special menus paired with donated Esser Vineyards wine, and their canine companions will feast on a meal donated by Weruva Pet Foods.

Dog owners looking for an even more luxurious experience can bid on a two-night wine tasting stay at the Esser Vineyards’ Guest House.

The event will be held to raise funds for animals in need, and to recognize the importance of our canine companions in everyday life. The dinner also offers owners an opportunity to acknowledge their favorite furry friend and a chance to introduce them to the community.

Great Idea!
I love taking my dogs places, sometimes it's hard to find places where dogs are welcome.
