At least fifty Houston police officers who worked with police canine units have filed a federal lawsuit seeking overtime wages and compensation tied to the care of the dogs they were assigned, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Raleigh Dog Law Makes It a Crime to Tie Up Dogs
Starting July 1st, it is now a crime to tie up dogs in the city limits of Raleigh, N.C., for more than three hours in a 24-hour period in an attempt to keep dogs from being left out in the open for too long. The new rule would fine dog owners $100 a day and would result in misdemeanor criminal charges being filed against the dog owner, The Raleigh Telegram reports.
