Martha Stewart is showing a softer side to Jessica Simpson after lashing out at the singer last week for letting a coyote snatch her Maltese-Poodle mix Daisy.
“I said that she should have been watching her dog more closely, but I feel very, very sorry for anybody that loses a pet,” Stewart said on Thursday’s “The Martha Stewart Show.” “Jessica, I hope you find your pet, but if you don’t, I’m really sorry that you lost one.”
Stewart’s tone starkly contrasts comments made earlier last week, when the domestic doyenne told Us Weekly that Simpson “should’ve been more careful. She should have watched [Daisy] more closely.”
A friend told People that Simpson is “really upset” about Daisy but is “focusing on work and spending time with her family and friends.”
Simpson left for Uganda several days ago to film “The Price of Beauty,” her new reality show.
