Free bags of cat and dog food saved Gayla Pritchett from having to hand over Kiki, Mia, Spencer and Ladybug to an animal shelter. Out of work for nine months until last week, she couldn’t afford to feed her two cats and two Chihuahuas. Spay & Neuter Kansas City stepped in and fed the pets for her, The Kansas City Star reports.

Dead Dog in Kennel Washes Ashore
Police are seeking information about a dead dog in a kennel that washed ashore on the north end of Lake Winnebago in Wis. Calumet County Sheriff's Sgt. Mark Wiegert said Tuesday that the dog was so decomposed officials could not determine its breed, but it appeared to have white fur with black spots, The Associated Press reports.
