Wellness Natural Pet Food recently showed its support for the military’s working dogs serving in the Middle East. The pet food brand, manufactured by Wellpet of Tewksbury, Mass., in partnership with the company’s charitable arm, the Wellpet Foundation, donated 52,000 all-natural Wellness Pure Rewards Jerky Bits dog treats to the Military Working Dog Team Support Association Inc. (MWDTSA).

The nonprofit organization, which is based in Canton, Ga., supports U.S. military working dogs and their handlers. Nationally, MWDTSA expedites the delivery of goodie packages to deployed handlers. The organization has also helped build war dog memorials, organize veteran dog handler events and banquets and promote educational opportunities for the public.

The Wellness treats will be sent to military working dogs deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Djibouti.

“We are so grateful to the Wellpet Foundation for making such a substantial donation to our program,” said Dixie Whitman, president and cofounder of MWDTSA. “These are the perfect rewards for a hard-working canine.”

Do you have Christmas Care Packages for deployed K-9 Dogs? with the holiday seasons coming up, it would be a good idea to put together something special for them too.
