Wanted: forever homes for some 125 Raynham Park Greyhounds put out to pasture by the state’s new dog-racing ban. The track’s owners are reaching out to Bay State animal shelters – their former opponents in the heated dog-racing debate – to help the pooches find new digs, the Boston Herald reports.

For more than three years, a German Shepherd mix named Blek chased down hundreds of suspects and always came back to his handler, Ted Dahlin. Last week Blek ran into a wooded marsh in north Houston in pursuit of several burglary suspects. Animal Charity Reveals ‘Top of the Ops’ List
A puppy from London who ate a full-length plastic arrow and a dog who ate a Homer Simpson toy feature in a list of the most memorable cases handled in the last year by a veterinary charity. The PDSA said veterinary staff compiled a "top of the ops" list of cases as the charity marked a record of more than 100,000 pet operations this year, The Press Association reports.
