British rescuers say a dog who chased a seagull and fell off a 300-foot cliff into the sea has survived with only minor injuries. Paul Legendre of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution search-and-rescue service says the Springer Spaniel was rescued after he darted off southern England's scenic Seven Sisters cliffs, The Associated Press reports.

South Dakota Passes Bill to Protect Police Dogs
The South Dakota House on Monday passed a bill that would make it a Class 6 felony to kill an on-duty police service dog. The bill also would make it a Class 1 misdemeanor to intentionally injure torment, strike, disable or tamper with a law enforcement support animal, The Associated Press reports.
