Dog Bumps Car Into Neutral, Causing Fender-Bender
Wisconsin police said a dog caused a fender-bender in a parking lot when he knocked a parked car's gear shift into neutral. The car's owner had stopped for lunch and left his dog in the car. The dog somehow bumped the car into neutral, and the car rolled out of its parking spot and into a pickup truck across the lot, The Associated Press reports.

Philadelphia Shelter Evacuated After Dog Virus Kills Again
All of the animals at Philadelphia’s West Hunting Park Avenue shelter are being evacuated this week so that the building can be disinfected after a dog died of a rare illness last month. Officials say the death of a 3-year-old chocolate Labrador Retriever last week prompted the decision to clean the building. The dog died of the same disease that killed six dogs in June at the same shelter, NBC Philadelphia reports.

Man Gets 3½ Years for Stealing Puppies
A 21-year-old Chicago man was sentenced to 3½ years in prison for stealing two Pomeranian puppies from a pet store. Dasheik Muhammad-Arnold said he took the dogs from a suburban Chicago store last June and intended to give them to his mother as a gift, The Associated Press reports.
