PetSafe, a manufacturer of pet behavior and lifestyle products, has announced the 15 finalist cities for “Bark for Your Park,” a national contest to award one U.S. community $100,000 toward building a local dog park.
The 15 finalist cities are:
- Allentown, Penn.
- Bullhead City, Ariz.
- Derby, Vt.
- Fort Dodge, Iowa
- Huntington, W.V.
- Kirkland, Wash.
- Lynchburg, Va.
- Mission Viejo, Calif.
- Mobile, Ala.
- Montgomery, Ala.
- Orland Park, Ill.
- Pacifica, Calif.
- Plainfield, Ind.
- Warsaw, Indiana
- Westfield, Ind.
Each finalist submitted a two-minute video highlighting their community’s commitment and enthusiasm for a dog park. To view the videos and vote for your favorite city to win, click here or visit PetSafe’s Facebook page. Each person can vote once per day per voting site.
At the end of the three-week voting stage, the finalist community with the most votes will receive $100,000 toward building a PetSafe dog park.
So why put the vote to the community, rather than a judging panel?
“As a leader in pet behavior and lifestyle products, we are a company of pet lovers,” says Randy Boyd, president and CEO of PetSafe. “We truly understand the passion of pet lovers in this country, and we wanted to put the power in their hands. The city with the most enthusiasm will win.”
