have 4 labs - just finished making ten days worth of brown/white rice mixed with blended carrots, green beans and blue berries this gets put over one cup natural balance salmon & sweet potato kibbles or nb vegetarian kibbles - then eat twice a day and each get one cup kibbles and one cup of the fresh food - then also take flaxseed, fish oil, gloucasime/chondrontin - all people grade. Our two girls have atypical cushings and thyroid so they also have melatonin and thryoid pills. They all love their food and have even dropped a couple pounds since we started doing this about a year ago. I make up all the veggie stuff and freeze it in zip bags so that every 7-10 days I just have to boil up the rice, mix and they have their own shelf in the refrigerator. Sometimes there is so much dog food that there is no room for people food. But they are not dogs - they are members of our family and deserve only the best. We switched to all natural veggie stuff since one of our girls is very allergic and has bad ear problems.

30% of people who cast their vote "don't cook"?!! wow.
I bake treats for my dogs occasionally as an extra special treat. The best part about cooking for my dogs is that I put every ingredient in them myself and know exactly what I'm feeding my furry kids.

If it was an easy, healthy recipe I'd try it.
