From the East Coast to the West Coast and everywhere in between, there are some awesome dog friendly vacation destinations you should consider before booking that same old cabin in the woods.
- Albuquerque, NM
With four mild seasons boosting fantastic weather year-round, Albuquerque is a great vacation spot anytime. They have over 13 on and off-leash dog parks as well as pet-friendly restaurants and hotels. The city has been recognized in many national magazines for being so pet-friendly. - Asheville, NC
It’s no wonder Asheville, NC has been named a top dog friendly destination. The city has over 2,000 miles of hiking trails, pet-friendly attractions, shopping and hotels. The historic Grove Park Inn, a four-diamond resort where 10 U.S. presidents have vacationed, recently became dog friendly. Although the park does not allow dogs, dogs are allowed on the Crystal Mountain gondola that carries travelers 2500 feet over the park. At the top, there are several pet friendly hiking trails. Don’t forget to bring your dog’s vaccination records, as some places may require them. Also, it’s a good idea to know where the closet veterinarian is, in case of emergencies.
