Cocker Spaniel Joins Royal Family
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcome an adorable Cocker Spaniel puppy named Lupo into their family.

William and Kate brought the puppy home in December and managed to keep his name a secret until now. The private matter of the dog’s name became very public after the Duchess was overheard telling a group of schoolchildren about her new companion.
When offered a toy dog by one of the children, the Duchess suggested they name it after her own dog, “Lupo.” The name Lupo, derived from the Latin word Wolf, was agreed upon by the couple as the perfect name for the little black Cocker Spaniel.
While Cocker Spaniels aren’t typically compared with wolves, these little sporting dogs make wonderful and merry companions.
The puppy has not been introduced to the public yet, but has been spotted frolicking on the beach with his new family. It is rumored that the Lupo might be related to the Middleton family’s Cocker Spaniel, Ella.
The couple’s first dog together, Lupo replaces Widegon, Prince William’s black Labrador Retriever who passed away two years ago.
