Chicken Jerky RecallThe Denver-based company Tuesday urged pet owners to return 2.5-pound packages of Nature’s Deli Chicken Jerky Dog Treats purchased at one of 57 Sam’s Club stores. The product, marked with the bar code 647263800208 and a best-buy date of 091913 DEN, was distributed in Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.

The Food and Drug Administration detected salmonella during a test of the lot, the company stated.

No animal or human illnesses were reported in connection with the product, Kasel added.

Symptoms of salmonella poisoning in pets include lethargy, diarrhea, fever and vomiting. People who handle contaminated pet products may show similar symptoms.

Recalled Nature’s Deli Chicken Jerky Dog Treats should be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund. More information is available by calling Kasel at 800-218-4417 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. EDT Monday through Friday.

The recall followed one announced last week involving 6-count, 5-inch Boots & Barkley American Beef Bully Sticks. Some of the sticks, distributed at Target stores from April through September under the bar code 647263899189, tested positive for salmonella. Read more>>

I have the empty 2.5 pound empty package in my hand with barcode 647263800208 and it was bought at Sam's in Tn. We can not find it ANYWHERE so I think it was recalled in Tn. too.I won't buy from this company until their company is in United States. I will buy their products then.

I was told by a man over the pet department in Walmart that this was made in China but the company was from the States and they are now building a plant in the States. This store is in Dickson,Tn.that the man worked.I feel that the truth would be the best way to go if they are going to build in America now and REALLY want a TRUE American Company. My husband said he looked on line and it said none was pulled from Tn. but that just isn't true.

I'm sure all the readers of this information would LOVE to know where these treats are MADE, much more than where the Company is located. I know I would and so would my neighbor. Colorado sounds so idyllic and so very American as well as clean and safe unlike where most dog treats are actually made at this time in history.
