While some Jet fans feel that Vick has served his time and is a welcomed addition to the team, many are in outrage, promising never forget the horrible acts of cruelty Vick committed on innocent animal lives.

After the news hit about Vick’s newest job, Jets fans took to social media to share their disgust over the hiring of Vick.

Vick was arrested on April 25, 2007, after authorities discovered evidence of his Bad Newz Kennels dogfighting operation, including dog-burial sites and dogfighting paraphernalia, at his home in Surry County, Va. Sixty-six dogs, mostly Pit Bulls, were seized and placed in animal-control shelters. While some found homes, many could not be adopted out and became known as the "Vicktory Dogs.” Read more about Vicktory Dog Lucas>>

After pleading guilty to federal dogfighting charges in August 2007, the fallen football star was sentenced to 23 months of incarceration. He served 18 months in a federal penitentiary and another two in home confinement.

In May 2009 Vick signed on as a backup quarterback with the Philadelphia Eagles and was named 2010 Comeback Player of the year by Sporting News and Pro Football Weekly.

While Vick has been playing since his return from prison, it’s the move to the Jets that has stirred up the reminders of his heinous crimes. His work with the Humane Society and attempt to be a "spokesperson” for animals, has not earned him any points with the animal lovers and news outlets who took to posting photos and detailed descriptions of animal cruelty.

Dogs Rescued From Bad Newz Kennels

Thanks to the tireless efforts of dog-loving volunteers and activists, many of these surviving dogs went on to live happy lives with their new families, and are giving back to the communities that helped saved them.

there is no sentence long enough to ever makeup for his crimes against innocent victims. That he was ever allowed back into the NFL still amazes me. I thought the NFL was about integrity & morals, sportsmanship. I gave up watching football since they allowed him back. The lowest of low, he deserves nothing but scorn for the piece of worthless trash he is.
