A woman walking her dog at about 9 a.m. this morning found another plate of meatballs. According to NBCBayArea, the meatballs found near in San Francisco's Sunset District appear to have pills lodged inside.

Not the first time the meatballs have been found, in February, a 9-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever - Border Collie mix named Timber, ate one of these street meatballs in the Twin Peaks neighborhood. Promptly taken to the vet, Timber was unharmed, but the experience but Timber’s owner and other dog owner’s on edge.
Although there have only been two meatball sightings this year, it’s a scary reminder for many residents. Last summer hundreds of meatballs filled with strychnine were found throughout the Diamond Heights and Twin Peaks neighborhoods, killing a Dachshund named Oskar.
It is unclear whether these meatballs are connected to the previous meatball scares in the city, but either way owners in the area are encouraged to be on alert.
If at any time you suspect your dog has eaten something unusual on a walk, take them to the vet immediately.
Anyone with information about the meatballs should call San Francisco police and can also contact the Animal Legal Defense Fund.
The Animal Legal Defense Fund, SFDOG, and Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s) of the poisoned meatballs in the Bay Area. Learn more here>>
