Former BFFs Brittney Spears and Paris Hilton appear to have bought matching dogs over the weekend.
Spears spent a half hour in a Bel Air pet store this Saturday before taking home a $3,000 Yorkshire Terrier, which she reportedly named “London,” according to People.com.
Also on People.com, new photos of Paris Hilton show her enjoying her recent freedom from a Los Angeles jail cell toting a similarly diminutive Yorkie.
The latest canine addition to Hilton’s family, rumored to be named Cinderella, accompanied the heiress on a Malibu beach outing Saturday, the Celebrity Dog Watcher reported.
Another young Hollywood star, former “American Idol” runner up Katharine McPhee, also visited Pets of Bel Air and purchased a male Chihuahua puppy she named Larry, according to celebrity dog site.
Tiny dogs, however, weren’t the only popular pooches this weekend.
Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell’s Saturday nuptials in Los Angeles featured the couple’s two medium-sized dogs, Taco and Better, dressed in black bow ties, People.com reported.
To start the weekend dog frenzy off, a July 14, 2007, Playboy Mansion event to raise money for Much Love, a Los Angeles-based animal shelter, brought out several celebrity dog lovers. For the price of a $500 “Bow Wow Wow” fundraiser ticket, attendees might have caught a glimpse of the Duff sisters, Lori Loughlin, Billy Baldwin, Sara Ramirez, Cesar Millan, and Holly Madison of “The Girls Next Door” fame. On the other coast, Bernadette Peters, Lisa Rinna, and Harry Hamlin showed up for the ASPCA-sponsored Broadway Barks in New York on Saturday, Celebrity Dog Watcher reported.
