It’s fun, it’s free, and there will be lots and lots of dogs! What better way to spend a Saturday in New York City’s Central Park than at the “My Dog Loves Central Park Country Fair” Best in Park dog show on Oct. 13?
"The 'My Dog Loves Central Park Country Fair' brings together all types of park users for a day of fun festivities,” says Central Park conservancy president Doug Blonsky.
This popular annual event – which will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. between the Bandshell and Sheep Meadow – is unique in that it tries to find not the prettiest or best breed-representative dog, but rather the dog with the best manners! Celebrity judges will be on hand to help decide which four-legged competitor best embodies the characteristics of a good Central Park citizen.
The fair will also include the Animal Haven Adoption Van, a microchip clinic, American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen testing, an agility course, service dog demonstrations, an “Ask the Vet” booth, plenty of fun and games (such as doggie musical chairs) and great giveaways.
