The canine cancer campaign website, launched in mid-April by Morris Animal Foundation, is drawing large-scale interest from pet owners, human cancer patients, and scientists. supports MAF’s efforts to raise $30 million in the next five years to fund research for a cure for canine cancer in the next 10 to 20 years.

Showcasing the campaign’s theme of Best Friends Helping Best Friends, visitors to the site can read case histories of canine cancer patients, survivors, and learn more about the innovative treatments developed to benefit dogs that are also helping human cancer patients.

People are invited to post photos, comments, memories of their dogs’ battles with cancer, and chat with other pet owners around the world.

“The response to our canine cancer website proves again just how much people around the world love their dogs,” says Michael Burke, MAF vice president of marketing and communications.

Pet owners and animal-loving corporations are making donations in the name of their dogs, dogs from their pasts, and on behalf of puppies yet to be born. Contributions to the research can be made online at, or by calling (877) DOG-CURE.
