Life in the doghouse may not be so bad after all. Attendees of the 2007 Little Houses on Parade event, in conjunction with the Parade of Homes at Southshore in Denver, Colo., will have the chance to buy raffle tickets toward one of seven designer doghouses constructed by the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver.
Designs include nautical-themed doghouses, firehouse themes, and a dog saloon doghouse, among others.
Proceeds from the doghouses will be used by the Home Builders Foundation of Metro Denver to renovate homes and provide improved housing environments for individuals and families affected by long-term disabilities. Possible improvements include purchasing materials for wheelchair ramps, paying for building permits for remodeling accessible entryways and buying adaptive equipment and fixtures for new bathrooms.
The designer doghouses will be raffled off individually; tickets can be purchased at the Parade of Homes for $5 each or five for $20. The winning tickets will be drawn at 5 p.m. on Sept. 3, 2007.
