The Canine Art Guild, an association of artists dedicated to creating and promoting art depicting dogs, hosts its first-ever online exhibition from April 1 to May 31, 2007 on the guild’s website, www.canineartguild.com.
Titled “An Artist’s Best Friend,” the show will highlight the artists’ canine muses. Over two dozen artists are expected to exhibit original artworks inspired by canines that have touched their lives.
Each piece will be accompanied by text explaining the artists’ unique relationship with their subjects.
The Canine Art Guild, founded in March 2006, is an international network of artists at many career levels. Its members share resources, educational experiences and other opportunities while providing inspiration and support to one another, according to the group’s director, Kimberly Kelly Santini.
The “Artist’s Best Friend” exhibit is the first of a planned ongoing series of exhibitions. The next exhibit, with the theme of “dogs just want to have fun,” is planned for June, according to Santini.
