Canine television and movie star Benji is taking part in an auction to benefit survivors of Hurricane Katrina.

Online auction venue Charity Folks has partnered with the American Red Cross to host the event, which runs through Sept. 16.

Benji is auctioning off her attendance at a birthday party, along with a private screening of her latest movie, Benji Off the Leash. The winning bidder also receives the mountain bike ridden by actor Nick Whittaker in the film.

"Benji was rescued from a shelter in Gulfport (Miss.) and has a special place in her heart for those who have suffered so much from the recent deadly hurricane that devastated her home town," said Joe Camp, creator of the Benji character.
