Planet Dog Philanthropy, the non-profit arm of Portland, Maine, pet product manufacturer, Planet Dog, is donating funds and coordinating a pet supplies drive for canine Hurricane Katrina victims. Planet Dog has donated $1,000 to Noahs Wish, a non-profit organization that has rescued over 400 pets in the Gulf Coast region. The pet supplies drive takes place through September. Needed supplies include dry and canned pet food, bottled water, flea and tick preventives, and other non-perishable items. Collection sites include Planet Dogs headquarters and warehouse, and several other Portland, Maine, businesses and organizations are involved in the drive. The drive ends Oct. 3 when goods will be transported to affected areas.
