AKC Field Trials
Field trials are designed to test a dogs hunting skills, from tracking to finding small game, such as rabbits and birds. Each breed was designed to hunt a different quarry, with a different set of skills. The American Kennel Club sanctions six types of field trials, depending on the breed of dog: Basset Hounds, Beagles, Dachshunds, pointing breeds, retrievers, and spaniels.
