Tickets on Sale for 2006 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship

Tickets are for the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, Jan. 14-15.

October 26, 2005
Tickets are on sale for the 2006 American Kennel Club/Eukanuba National Championship, Jan. 14-15, 2006, in Tampa, Fla.

The championship pits 1,500 canine competitors against each other for the honor of top dog.

Competitors rank in the top 25 of their breed based on year-long competition in AKC events. Any dog receiving an all-breed Best in Show at an AKC show held during the qualifying period also receives an invitation, as does the top-ranked dog in each AKC-registered breed from eligible clubs around the world.

The championship is the largest prize money dog show in the world, with cash and prizes totaling more than $225,000.

In addition to the main competition, AKC/Eukanuba will crown the National Agility Champion and the National Obedience Champion during the two-day event.

This event has developed into an exciting tradition for competitors who are highly involved in the sport, as well as for dog lovers in general, said Ron Menaker, AKC/Eukanuba National Championship show chairperson. This is a show that dog lovers have looked forward to all year.

Tickets for both days of the competition cost $29 for adults, $24 for seniors and military personnel and $13 for children ages two through eight. Children under two-years-old are admitted for free. Single day tickets are $20 for adults, $17 for seniors and military personnel and $13 for children ages two through eight. Children under two-years-old are admitted for free.

Tickets are available at Ticket Master, or by calling (813) 301-2500.

For those who can't attend the event, it will be telecast live on Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel starting at 8pm both nights.

More information on the show is available at Top Dog Show.
