Minor League Team Offers Season Ticket Package for Dog Owners
Pelicans throw in chew toy to dog owners as enticement.
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, the Class A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, are offering a mini season ticket package for dog owners this season.
For $25, dog owners can attend five games with their dogs. They also receive a Kong chew toy as part of the package.
They say that dogs are a mans best friend, says Matt OBrien, general manager of the Pelicans. With this mini-plan, fans will be able to bring their best friend to the ballpark five different times.
The Pelicans are also known for their mascot Dinger, who is not a seabird but rather a Yellow Labrador Retriever. Dingers bag of tricks includes carrying out baskets of fresh balls to the umpire.
The five games included in the mini-plan are April 19 (vs. Winston-Salem Warthogs), May 9 (vs. Frederick Keys), June 16 (vs. Kinston Indians), July 9 (vs. Wilmington Blue Rocks) and August 30 (vs. Potomac Nationals).
