Search for Missing Vivi Continues (Updated 03-30-06)
Unconfirmed sighting of Vivi reported near a residential area.

After yesterdays early sighting of Vivi there was another, as yet unconfirmed, sighting in a quiet residential area next to Flushing Meadows Park around 9pm last night. The woman who says she saw a dog fitting Vivis description did not call in the sighting until today. There have been no sightings reported today, however.
Honi Reisman met with the Assistant Commissioner of the park today. She is a dog person and promised to help. She sent Honi and volunteers Rosa, Tina and Carol around the entire park with two park employees for over two hours. One of the objectives was to locate a good spot for a trap, which is difficult both because of the size of the park and because the trap can't be accessible to the public. They visited the zoo and distributed flyers to all the various agencies in the park.
We hope for more sightings and also that everyone who sees Vivi will refrain from chasing her. (See yesterdays update.) Paul and I have worked out some "guidelines" for how to act if anyone comes across Vivi, based on information from the professionals as well as our own experiences. Once the core group has approved these we hope they can be distributed as widely as possible.
Thanks for your patience and help.
