A Boulder woman has hired an attorney to fight a $1,000 fine she was given by the city for coloring her Miniature Poodle pink to help raise awareness for breast cancer. She is accused of violating the city’s code that says “No person shall dye or color live fowl, rabbits, or any other animals, KMHG (Denver, Colo.) reports.

Two Jackson County, Ky., men have been arrested and charged with 2nd degree animal cruelty after 115 neglected and abused dogs were found on their property. Sheriff Tim Fee says he would like to see them charged with 115 individual counts of animal cruelty so they could be punished with the maximum if convicted, WTVQ (Kentucky) reports.
