A pair of Putnam County, Tenn., lawmen was warning a dog owner to control his pet when it raced over and bit them on the leg. Now, the pooch is in the pound and the owner is in the doghouse, The Associated Press reports.

Volkswagen Defends Singing Dog Ad
Volkswagen has defended a controversial television advertisement which shows a dog cowering and shaking. The 30-second ad features a Jack Russell Terrier happily "singing" in the front seat of a car. It then cuts to shots of the same dog shyly cowering by his owner's legs, while quietly mumbling the song under its breath. There is an investigation as to whether or not the dog was mistreated, the Telegraph (U.K.) reports.
