Santa Cruz Pets Stranded by Fire, Waiting for Owners
While Summit Fire evacuees worked to get their lives back in order, some of their pets remained stranded at Santa Cruz County animal shelters. At the height of the fire, more than 420 animals were rescued from the raging flames in the Santa Cruz Mountains, KSBW Channel.com (California) reports.
