Multipet International has produced a “Support Our Troops” Loofa dog toy, patterned after the company’s Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Loofa dog toy, for which Multipet donates a portion of sales proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The new Loofa is designed to raise awareness of dogs serving with the armed forces and money for the organization that runs a rehabilitation center in California for the military dogs, said Leslie Yellin, Multipet’s director of strategic accounts and the force behind the two products.
The dogs are rehabilitated between tours of duty, she said.
The Support Our Troops Loofa toy is available in 12- and 18-inch sizes, and is being sold nationally at retailers including Petsmart, Petco, Pet Supplies Plus, Meijer’s, Walgreens, CVS, Price Chopper, Weis Markets, and Stop ‘n Shop.
