New York Dog Training Course Now in Spanish

A New York City-based dog trainer answers the demand for Spanish-language dog obedience classes.

Semper Fido, a New York City-based dog training service, is now offering a 7-week basic dog obedience class in Spanish. Located in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood, the classes will meet Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. with dog trainer Dot Rivera of Dot’s Dog Training in Manhattan.

Semper Fido owner Dawn Prentiss says she was “dreaming about” starting a Spanish-language course for a while. “I’ve gotten a lot of phone calls from people looking for these classes but couldn’t find anyone to refer them to,” she said.

Instead, Prentiss, who doesn’t speak Spanish, found someone to run the classes at Semper Fido.

I don't think anyone in America should expect Americans to use Spanish. Learn English or go home.
