Tails will be wagging and people will be walking as they join together to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony for the Humane Society Silicon Valley’s (HSSV) new Animal Community Center in Milpitas, Calif., on Oct. 6.
The center will feature an adoption galleria adorned with all the comforts of home, a boarding facility, doggie daycare, grooming center, dog park, training center, store, pet-friendly café, education center, outdoor arena, affordable spay and neuter services, and a veterinary hospital with a public viewing room.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, there will be a Walk ‘n Wag walk-a-thon for families and their dogs, which is a one-and-a-half mile journey through Milpitas to raise money for the HSSV shelter.
The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. on Oct. 6, 2007, and will be immediately followed by the walk-a-thon at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will be held at the new Animal Community Center located at 901 Ames Ave., Milpitas.
HSSV is an independent, nonprofit agency that offers affordable spay and neuter services, vaccinations, microchipping, adoptions and education programs to enhance the human-animal bond.
