Dogs Welcome at NYC Museum

This weekend the Museum of the City of New York will allow dogs on its courtyard for a special event.

The Museum of the City of New York will open its courtyard to dogs and their owners this Saturday June 16, 2007, at 1 p.m. for a reading by best-selling author Cathleen Schine of her newly released seventh novel, The New Yorkers: A Novel, a comedic take on the lives of several well-to-do Upper West Side residents and the dogs that control them.

Adam Gopnik, a critic-at-large for The New Yorker, will introduce the program that will likely run one to three hours, depending on the audience, a museum spokeswoman said.

In case of rain, the event will move to the auditorium. It is free with museum admission.

Located at 1220 Fifth Avenue at 103rd St, the museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Admission to the museum is as follows:
Adults: $9
Seniors, students: $5
Families: $20 (max. 2 adults)
Children 12 and under: free
Members: free

For more information, call (212) 534-1672, ext. 3395, or visit the museum’s website at www.mcny.org/public_programs/all/634.html.
