Although the owner told the customers that Page was AKC-registered, they discovered that she was not. Her papers did indicate that she came from the Hunte Corporation, the large Midwestern distributor of puppy mill puppies. Page appeared to be about 5 weeks old, but her papers said that she was 8 weeks old, the legal minimum for importing out-of-state dogs. She went home from the store with a very bad cough that required two weeks of antibiotics.
